Skunk2 Pro-C Coilover installation

In januari 2010 I started with the suspension upgrage. As usual I first collected all the parts I needed. Then it was time to put the car on my new jack stands and disassamble my suspension. Because I have a daily drive Honda Eg civic now I decided to clean all the parts and paint the complete under body of the car with an new layer of black tectyle. There for I had to clean the underbody of the Crx first, which was a hell of a job. But after all I was really happy with the result. First a picture of the Skunk2 Pro-C Coilovers, and the damper fork witch has been powder coated.

As u can see I installed the coilovers by first lowering the car as much as possible. These coilovers are about 10cm shorter than stock, or my first Koni coilovers. On this way I start with no preload and a maximum lowered car. To see how it works with the adjustments, check on YouTube and search for Skunk2 Pro-C!

On the picture below u can see the front suspension. I decided to use the Skunk2 Pro series adjustable camberkit. When u lower your car as much as I do, u end up with more than 5 degrees negative camber. Your tire will suffer extreme wear and straight line stability on high speed will be dramatic. I corrected my camber on both sides to 3 degrees negative camber.

Here a picture of the rear, notice the clean black underbody. And my black hi-heat painted exhaust. Installation of the rear coilovers was easy. And I have to say that the adjustment of these coilovers is very easy. I have used new OEM bolts to install this complete suspenion, just for saftey.

As u can see, al this is done at home so I could take the time to do it good at once. So even with snow and rain I could work under this large carport.

This is te final result of the look of the car with the new coilovers on. You will understand that speed bumps sometimes will gives some problems. But with my special APE garage downpipe I never touch the ground. After all it was worth the effort and money, this Skunk2 Pro-C set is the best I had so far.
