After searching around the internet for a good divice to keep an eye on the engine I found the HR Tuning
Tunerview II. A nice and slim device witch can show different data about your engine at once.
The only question was, where do I mounth this tunerview. When searching around at Honda-tech and seeing some examples
I decided to mounth it into the cluster. First step was to take the cluster out of the car and take it apart.
Do not remove the needles as u see on this picture.. I found this out
the hard way. You can easily remove the whole speed and revs unit at once. The cluster disassembled:
Then use a dremel to remove the plastic of the light houses, and put the Tunerview in it's place.
I used 2 thin screws to attach the Tunerview to the cluster. (Those are included on the TV dash-kit.
Because the oil pressure, battary, e-brake and engine check light are removed and u still need them I had to make a solution for this.
Therefor I used 3 leds for the oil pressure, battary and e-brake lights and installed them between the water temperature gauge
and the fuel gauge. On the picture u see the first 2 lights, ad the end it became 3. Because u can read the MIL's on the Tunerview
I left the engine check light behind.
Before I finally assembled the cluster I programed it with the included software and checked the display.
The final result! It works realy great and it's a real good product.
U need to attach the Tunerview to your ECU at port CN2. And u need to solder a CN2 header in your ECU.
When doing this be careful not to demolish your ECU, or leave it to a proffesional.
One condition to get proper data out of the CN2 port is to use a chipped
ECU running Crome or eCtune software.
