The installation of the turbo kit: After a long time of collecting parts for my turbo setup I finally received everything. So it was time to start the build-up. A few months before I already installed the Full-Race tractionbar. At first to increase the grip, but also to gain some space for the 3" downpipe and the dump tube. On the picture below u can see the Full-Race traction bar. As u see there is a lot more space compared to the oem situation.
To fasten the intercooler I made 2 custom supports, and attached them on the oem position of the horn. The horn got a new position on the side of the chassis. For a while I planned to refresh and clean the engine bay of the car. Because I stripped most of the front to fit the radiator and intercooler this was a beautiful opportunity. I did a full wire tuck and resprayed the front frame. Before and after pictures:
After I reinstalled all the parts of the front I brought the car to Sneaky
Tuning to customize the downpipe and dumb tube. The downpipe equipped
with the Peakboost turbo kit is made for the 92-95 civic so it had to be
reduced to fit in the crx chassis. Sneaky Tuning also made me a testpipe
with 3" flange that fits the downpipe.
After the downpipe was finished the Full-Race radiator had to be
adjusted a little bit more to fit into the engine bay. I did not want to
make any compromise on it's position, it had to stand u straight and
clean. As u can see on the picture the Full-Race radiator fits very
good. The result after my visit at Sneaky Tuning was all this parts were
plug and play now. And everything was customized to fit nice and clean. Here 2 pictures of the new downpipe and the adjustable test pipe after it has been customized to fit the crx. we also decided to install an extra lambda bung to make sure I could install the wideband lambda on the right position.
