Already before I stared this turbo project, I restored the extra fuel cell I've bought before. First off I cleaned it, witch was a mayor job with all the rust and other dirt on it. When it was clean I gave it a complete respray. This was the perfect moment to change the fuel cell for my restored one, because I had to install the Walbro intank fuel pump. To install the Walbro fuel pump the fuel cell had to come off anyway. On the picture below the result of a lot of hours sanding, and the final paint job.
When the old fuel cell was disassembled I could easily take the OEM fuel pump out. To install the Walbro fuel pump you need the old support front the OEM fuel pump. Be sure the wiring is correct and water/fuel-tight before u assemble it back into the fuel tank.
For the clean look and to protect the fuel-lines for the extra underhood temperatures I decided to convert my OEM fuel-lines to
6 -AN stainless steel fuel-lines. First I removed the OEM fuel-lines and the OEM fuel filter. Than I cut the hard-line by
using a mini tubing cutter from Summit racing. After I made sure it was a straight cut I put the -5AN Tube sleeve and -5AN tube b nut
around the hard-line.
Now the hard line was prepared I made the new fuel-line using some Earls 6-AN fittings and a 6-AN stainless steel braided hose. Straight on the AEM fuel-line I connected an Earls performance fuel filter. The result is a nice and clean fuel-line, and a beautiful small fuel filter.
