When all the fuel-lines were installed I tested them for any leaks. Happy enough everything worked fine. Because the OEM fuel-filter was removed and replaced by the much smaller Earls filter there was space enough to install my 2nd oil catch-can. The first is used for the B16's bottom end positive crankcase ventilation. And the second for the B16's positive crankcase ventilation on the head. The PCV on the cylinder head was not very necessary, but I didn't want to take any risk. These catch-cans and breather filters come from Kordenbrock Motorsports.
Before I could install the 12-AN hoses from the valve cover to the breather tank I first installed the intake piping and the Tial blow-off valve. This so I could see how to route the hoses, and where exact to assemble the breather tanks.
The 12-AN hoses are custom made, using Earls performance hoses and stainless steel braided hoses. When these where assembled I could put the strut bar back in position and do some final cleaning in and around the engine-bay. This is the result after 2 weeks of work:
To fit the intercooler and the piping behind the front bumper I had to customize the bumper frame a little. Because the large bend behind it I had to reweld the bumper support. My goal was to have a clean install of the intercooler and piping without cutting my whole front bumper, and this turned out to look very good. To provide a little extra cooling I cleared a few little parts out of the slots of the bumper. Just to make sure radiator gets enough cold air.
The car is tuned by an authorized eCtune tuner. A big thanks for that!! Page1 Page2 Page3 Page4 Page5 | |
